Mark K. Peterson, age 64, of Jacksonville FL passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2022. Born July 10, 1958, in Panama City, FL. Mark was the son of the late James A. Peterson Sr. and Faye S. Peterson.

Mark spent the last few years of his life at Fort Caroline Gardens Assisted Living, surrounded by caring staff and many friends. Mark was kind and good-natured; he loved spending time in the company of others. He enjoyed getting outside in the yard and for walks around the neighborhood, where he would chat and make friends along the way. Mark may be best known for his artistic talent, friends and family looked forward to his handmade cards each Christmas. He also had an innate desire to help those around him and left everyone he met with a smile and laugh.

Mark is survived by his sister, Katie Kupperman (Keith); brothers, Paul Peterson (Beth) and David Peterson; niece Carly; and nephews, Justine, Jordan, AJ, Joshua, Joseph, and Jared. He is predeceased by his older brother James Peterson Jr.

A Memorial Service will be held from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M., Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Quinn-Shalz at 3600 Third Street South, Jacksonville Beach, Florida 32250. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in honor of Mark to The Arc Jacksonville. The family also asks that friends share in a bowl of ice cream, Mark’s favorite treat, in remembrance of him.
