Marjorie Ann Jones Killian

Marjorie Ann Jones Killian, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on February 14, 2025, at her home in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 2, 1937, in Jamaica, New York, she lived a rich and fulfilling life until the age of 88.

Marjorie was a dedicated wife to her husband, Richard A. Killian, and a loving mother to her three children: Scott (Nancy), Sandy, and Ross (Kristin). Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished her role as a grandmother to Laura (Eric), Jack (Roshni), Patrick, Nick, Alex, and Katie—her grandchildren brought her immeasurable happiness. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Bode and Lilly, and Leo and Auggie.

Growing up, Marjorie spent her summers in Stony Brook on Long Island, where her early love for swimming flourished. She attended Russell Sage College in Troy, New York, where she earned a degree in physical education. After a brief career as a physical education teacher, she devoted herself to her family, becoming an integral part of their lives in every way.

Throughout her years, Marjorie was an active member of her communities, living first in Jenkintown and Horsham, Pennsylvania, and then in Fullerton, California, and Greenwich, Connecticut. She was particularly known for her contributions as a basketball, lacrosse, and field hockey referee, where her community work brought people together in celebration. In Ocean City, New Jersey, she served as a "tower lady," ensuring the safety of young sailors on the water. An avid gardener, Marjorie's beautiful gardens were a reflection of her nurturing spirit. She also enjoyed playing bridge, tennis, and golf, often immersing herself in her favorite books. Her friends lovingly described her as "lovely, wonderful, and a great friend," and many will miss her warmth and kindness.

Marjorie's life will be honored in a private ceremony, with plans for the scattering of her ashes in her beloved garden in Ludlow, Vermont, this spring—a place where she found peace and joy.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the memories of a life beautifully lived. In her passing, she will continue to inspire those who knew her, as they hold her in their hearts forever.

Rest in peace, Marjorie Ann Jones Killian. You will be dearly missed.
