Marcia Kathryn Ezequelle Age-87 of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL Wednesday September 25.2024 Vicars Landing Windsor Health Center
Marcia Was born December 16,1936 in Southampton, NY daughter of Joseph and Marguerite O'Connell; Sister, Barbara and Brother, John. Marcia attended Southampton High School where she played clarinet in the band. Upon graduation she went on to attend the University of Vermont. She graduated with a BA in Elementary Education in 1958. In September of her freshman year she met her husband to be Rick Ezequelle. They married on June 7, 1958, in Burlington, VT. They honeymooned on Martha's Vineyard.
They moved to Albany, NY where Marcia took a position as 4th grade teacher. The next year she moved back to Burlington where she taught 4th grade while Rick finished his BA at the University of Vermont. She then moved to Queens, NY where her first child, Lauren was born upon which she became a full time mother. After moving to Clifton, NJ and then Caldwell, NJ Marcia gave birth to 2 sons, Robert and Andrew in Caldwell. A job change resulted in a move back to New England in Medfield, MA where she lived for 10 years. Subsequently she move to Amherst, NH where she lived for 23 years and went back to teaching as a substitute teacher in the elementary school.
Marcia loved to read and always had a book going. She also was a consistent reader to her children, grand children and great grandchildren. She was a member of Questers and enjoyed studying antiques. She was a member of Farm Neck Golf Club on Martha's Vineyard and Marsh Landing Country Club in Ponte Vedra. Other activities included Bridge, tennis, skiing, golf, the beach and travel. She was fortunate to have traveled to over 50 countries. Her greatest joy came from being with children. She was a loving Grammy to 8 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Her greatest attribute was the love she poured out to family and friends. In 1980 Rick and Marcia built a home on Martha's Vineyard which became the summer vacation for all the family and created many fond family memories. Boating, sailing walking and beaching became daily activities which she enjoyed
She is survived by her husband, Rick of Ponto Vedra Beach; Daughter, Lauren Foster (Jim) of Williams Bay, WI; Son, Robert (Kristina) of Amherst, NH; Son, Andrew (Karrie) of Goffstown, NH; Grandchildren, Amelia, Wilson, Samuel, Daniel, Christina, Katharine, Caleb and Caroline; 11 great grandchildren; brother, John O'Connell of Hobe Sound, FL. She was predeceased by her Sister, Barbara.
There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at Christ Episcopal Church, Ponte Vedra, FL on November 4,2024, at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow.
