Lynn Fitzgerald

FITZGERALD Lynn Ann Fitzgerald, 51, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, passed away on April 25, 2013. Lynn was an inspiration, a motivator, a mentor, and dedicated friend to everyone lucky enough to have met her. A loving wife and mother, Lynn raised three children with love, compassion, and gentle guidance. She counseled and mentored family, friends, and colleagues encouraging all who met her to do the best they can, to look past barriers, and to stretch themselves to reach new horizons. Lynn is survived by her husband of 27 years, Ronald Adams, sons Francis and Thomas Adams, and daughter Catherine Adams, all of Ponte Vedra Beach; her sisters Beth Giovine of Long Valley, NJ and Patrice Scheffler of West Palm Beach, FL; her brother Gerald Fitzgerald of Long Island, NY; ten nieces and nephews in NJ and FL; and dozens of beloved friends at PSS World Medical and elsewhere. Lynn was born at Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan, NY in March 1962. Lynn attended high school in Boonton, NJ where she led the Boonton High Bombers to the Girls Basketball State Championship in 1979. Lynn was a Phi Beta Kappa national honors student at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst where she graduated summa cum laude in 1984 with a BA in Economics / Spanish Minor. She also studied at Universidad de Madrid and was fluent in Spanish. Lynn earned a Masters Public Administration at the University of South Carolina at the College of Charleston and worked as a senior business manager and analyst in the health care field for 25 years, with more than a decade of loving her work at PSS World Medical in Jacksonville. An avid traveler, Lynn explored cities and regions across Europe, the Mediterranean, Canada, and the U.S., most often with her favorite travel companion, Catherine. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday April 29, 2013, in Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home of Jacksonville Beach, FL.
