Lorraine G. Falbo, 91, of Jacksonville, FL died on, July 12, 2017, after a brief illness. Lorraine was born May 16, 1926 in Somersville, CT. She was the twelfth child of Alfred and Diane (Suprenaunt) Gagnon.
A long-time resident of Enfield and Somers, CT, and life-long polka dancer, Lorraine was the first women engineering aid at Hamilton Standard where her great-niece now works as an engineer. She was always proud of being a part of a team contributing to the development of the F-111 and Apollo capsule climate control systems. After retiring from Digital Equipment, Lorraine began a new career as a salesperson and consultant in several area health food stores, retiring in 2013.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles J. Falbo, her parents, and 9 of her sisters and brothers. She is survived by her brother, Adelard (Dizzy) Gagnon; sister, Catherine Butkus; son, Mark C. Falbo; grandchildren, Jennifer Kilgore of Jacksonville, FL and Joshua Falbo of Arlington, VA; five great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with family and friends on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Holy Family Church, 9800 Baymeadows Rd. in Jacksonville, FL. The family will receive guests after the mass in the Church hall. Burial will take place at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Enfield, CT at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances of Lorraine may be made to Catholic Charities or Catholic Relief Services.
