Lorine West

Lorine West, 92, of Grove City passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 23rd in Jacksonville, Florida.  Lorine lived a blessed life.  She loved her family, her church, her friends and neighbors.

She was born in West Liberty, Kentucky.  She moved to Dayton in her early twenties.  She went on a blind date with a gentleman named Archie West and after a four-month courtship they were married in Dayton in August, 1947.  Their first son, Dana, was born in 1949.  Their second son, Jeff was born in 1952.  She was a full-time mother who also worked a full-time job to help support the family.  She worked in the candy business for a number of years managing stores in Dayton and Canton Ohio.  She was an amazing mother, wife and friend who built her life around the people she loved.

She is preceded in death by Archie, her husband of fifty-eight years.  She is survived by sons, Dana West  and Jeff (Jennifer) West; granddaughters, Katie Stevenson (Andy) and Laura Lang (Michael); great grandchildren, Hope, Claire and Michael Lang, William and Lilly Stevenson; special friends, John and Susan Taylor; and honorary godchildren, Brady, Riley and Sydney Taylor.

Lorine’s Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday October 28th at Westhill Church of Christ, 3220 Sullivant Ave., Columbus, OH where her family will receive friends prior to the service.  Rev Rick Baumburger officiating.
