Lois M. Sullivan Lois M. Sullivan, 86, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Dec 3, 2022. She was born August 17, 1936, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Van McFarlane and his wife Phyllis. Lois graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Foods and Nutrition. She moved to New York City for the Borden Company where she was a food product publicist, and assistant test kitchen manager and home economist. Over her career she worked with many prominent women’s magazines, major food companies, and leading public relations and advertising agencies. Lois was a consummate cook and wonderful hostess. In 1983 she married Humphrey Sullivan after he hired her catering company for a business dinner. Lois then purchased a former inn in Bridgehampton, Long Island, where she installed a commercial kitchen and expanded her successful catering business. With her husband Sully, an avid sailor, they enjoyed cruising the East coast, deciding to finally drop anchor in Ponte Vedra, Florida for their retirement years. Lois is survived by her stepchildren Liza, Neil, and Jeannie, five grandchildren, and her extended family and cousins. Lois was predeceased by her husband Sully. The family would like to thank her devoted caregivers who lovingly supported and helped Lois over the past few years. A private memorial gathering will held by family and friends at a future date.
