Linda Diane Masters, of Atlantic Beach, Florida, passed away on September 4, 2024, in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. She was born on January 19, 1944, to Keith and Marjorie Woltz in Boone, Iowa. Linda was a kind and resilient woman who left a lasting impact on everyone she met.
She was deeply dedicated to her family and her community. For many years, Linda played a vital role behind the scenes, managing the administrative and accounting side of her husband’s family medical practice with precision and compassion. Outside of work, she was always giving back, spending much of her time volunteering to help women and children both in the U.S. and in Costa Rica.
As a mother, stepmother, and grandmother, Linda’s love was unwavering. Her two sons, Mike and Matt, along with her stepchildren—Leonard, Trollie, Brooke, Tammy, and Doug—felt her support and care every step of the way. She appreciated the unique bond of a blended family, showing that love can cross any boundaries and bring people together.
Linda was known for her warm heart, quick wit, and strong spirit. She was always ready to listen and give thoughtful advice to her loved ones. She also had a passion for adventure and was always eager to explore new places, travel, and learn more about the world.
Her curiosity drove her to spend countless hours immersed in the vast collection of books she owned. She found joy in gardening, photography, and hiking with friends, always embracing the beauty of nature.
Above all, Linda cherished her role as a mother and grandmother. The bonds she formed with her children and grandchildren were her greatest pride, a reflection of her endless love and devotion.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, Leonard “Bruno” Masters, her parents Oliver and Marjorie Woltz, and her stepson Trollie Masters.
She leaves behind her sons, Mike (Denise) Coop and Matt Coop; her stepchildren, Leonard (Blynda) Masters, Brooke (Gene) Steuber, Tammy (Tim) Smith, and Doug (Frankie) Masters; her grandchildren, Trae (Erin) Masters, Drew (Jessica) Palmisano, Jayke (Megan) Milton, Cooper Milton, Devon (Chad) Singletary, Kyle Raulerson, Gage (Hayley) Seyler, Savannah Coop, Macy Seyler, Lily Coop, and Chloe Coop, Sean (Chikako) Smith, Kevin (Diana) Smith; and her brothers, John (Shelia) Woltz and Dave (Marilyn) Woltz; and many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held to honor Linda’s life on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home, 3600 Third Street South, Jacksonville Beach, Florida 32250.
