Linda Dunlap La Londe, 75, passed away December 17, 2018. She was born September 9, 1943 in Washington, D.C. She grew up in Maryland and moved to WPB, FL when she was 12. She attended Forest Hill High School.
Linda earned a Bachelor’s degree in Math from FSU and later earned a MS in computer technology. Early on she was a math teacher and then began a career working for Pratt and Whitney/United Technologies as a computer programmer and systems analyst for 30 years. She retired young and later moved to St. Augustine. Linda loved the world, nature, animals and travel. She also spent many hours enjoying her passion, sewing. She was a founding member of the Sew and Sow Mission at Memorial Presbyterian Church where she attended church. She believed strongly in education and sponsored children in Haiti. She bought and organized food for the Food 4 Kids Program. She was an avid birder and raised purple martins and hummingbirds at her home in St. Augustine. She was kind hearted to all who she encountered.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, John E. La Londe, Jr.; only daughter, Alexia (Richard) Stanford; sister, Sue (Marcus) Googer; and 3 grandchildren, Erol, Xander and Luna.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019 at Memorial Presbyterian Church, 32 Sevilla St., St. Augustine, FL.
