Lillian "Lil" G. Park, 79, long time resident of Jacksonville Beach, FL, passed away on August 19, 2021. Lillian was born on September 26, 1941, in Augusta, Georgia, to Ed and Gladys Hoyle. Lil was predeceased by her parents Ed and Gladys Hoyle and grandson Nicholas Wilson Strickland. She is survived by her sons, Stephen Strickland and Mike Strickland (Amy), daughters Michelle Bennett (Mark), and Allison Strong (David), grandchildren Cassandra Blair, Bryson Strong, Michael Bennett, Robert Chase Bennett, great-granddaughter Kirra Wilson Strickland, sister Margaret Cselle (Bill), niece Tracy Thornton and nephew Shawn Cselle and her cat Missy.
Lil was affectionately known as "Mame" to her grandchildren. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1959 and pursued her dream of being a legal secretary in downtown Jacksonville for many years. She moved from Riverside to the beaches where she lived for nearly fifty years. Lil managed her own and many other properties in the Jacksonville Beach area.
Mame will be remembered as a very special mother, grandmother, friend and landlord. She loved to travel, and her favorite places were Ft. Myers Beach, FL and The Great Smokey Mountains. She loved traveling in a motor home, vacationing to a big mountain house or just chilling oceanfront. She missed her calling of being a meteorologist, she knew when a storm was coming and where it would go. She will be deeply missed by so many.
A private memorial service will be held. Contributions in her memory may be made to https://calusawaterkeeper.networkforgood.com/projects/68801-donation to help protect the waters of her beloved Ft. Myers Beach, Florida.
