Kenneth Haines Creveling, Jr., a Ponte Vedra Beach resident for 38 years, passed away on Dec 21, 2024. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, on August 2, 1938, and is son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth H. Creveling (Joan) of Allenhurst and Monmouth Beach, New Jersey. Ken graduated from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey, where he studied civil engineering and urban planning, receiving BS and BA degrees.

Ken began his professional career in 1961 with the Maryland Department of State Planning, followed by senior positions with leading consulting planning and design firms in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, District of Columbia, and Jacksonville, Florida. He established URBANOMICS, Inc, an urban and real estate economics consulting firm in 1991, providing advisory services to communities, government agencies, and real estate interests throughout the Eastern US.

Ken was involved over many years with professional organizations and in church activities and youth sports. He served on the Board of Trustees of Tower Hill Presbyterian Church in Red Bank, NJ, and as an officer and committee chair of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), a national urban planning organization. He was a Little League team manager for several years, spending quality time with his two sons and their teammates. Ken enjoyed many summers with family and friends at Ship Ahoy Beach Club, Sea Bright, NJ, including cheering on his boys at inter-club swim meets.

He and the family were members of International Town & Country Club, Chantilly, VA, where Ken was an avid but less than good golfer. In Florida, the family joined the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club and Sawgrass Country Club, enjoying and active in both for many years. The Palms Presbyterian Church, Jacksonville Beach, FL, was their church home.

Ken is pre-deceased by his wonderful wife of 57 years, Justine Rice Creveling, and youngest son, James Emerson Creveling. He is survived by his oldest son Kenneth H. Creveling, III, daughter-in-law Patricia (Paddy), and two awesome grandchildren, James N. Creveling and Caroline E. Creveling, Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by his sister, Jill Creveling, Neptune, NJ.
