Karen Yark

YARK Karen Marie Yark, 72, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 17, 2015. She was born in Oceanside, NY. She was the previous Co-Director of the Awana's, coach for the girls' softball team, former Chair Woman for the Christian Woman's Club in Kingston, NY, and a member of Neptune Baptist Church. Karen married her beloved husband of 52 years, Clayton, with one condition which was only if she could have a dog. She loved dogs dearly and had a passion for them. She and Clayton rescued many adorable dogs; they started with collies, then and Old English Sheep dog, and later a Shiatsu. For many years Clayton and Karen enjoyed boating vacations with friends at Smith Mountain Lake in VA, they were avid campers while raising their family. Karen was a true witness for the Lord and enjoyed participating in Bible studies. She was also an accomplished Tole Artist. Family members include her loving husband Clayton Yark; sons, Gregory Yark, Geoffrey Yark, and Glenn (Lisa) Yark; sister, Sharon (Peter) Helms; grandchildren, Katie, Noah and Chase Yark; 1 grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved extended church family of Neptune Baptist Church. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 22nd in Neptune Baptist Church. Visitation will follow from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 22nd in Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home.
