Julius Joseph Cirino, after a courageous battle to recover from complications due to heart surgery, “the family Jules,” passed away on Nov. 19th, 2017. He was born July 27, 1929 in Cleveland, OH. After tough times in Cleveland the family moved to Harpersfield, OH in the 30’s. His father lost the family farm during the Depression, which prompted another move, to Geneva, OH. He married Anita Gattozzi in 1950, the love of his life and, in his final years, his caretaker. They were married 67 years. Also in 1950, Julius took over the shoe repair shop at 4 N, Broadway where he worked the next 40 years. He was well known in the area for his expertise in his craft and his big, warm smile. After retiring in 1991, he and Anita moved to Jacksonville, FL to be near their grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Michael Cirino and mother, Delores (Lemmo) Cirino; brothers, Dan (Francis) Cirino, Don (Pauline) Cirino and Michael Cirino; sisters, Kitty (Jim) Sanzotta and Carol (Cosmo) Maione. He is survived by his wife, Anita; children, Michael (Peggy) Cirino, Patty (Eric) Kraut, and Jerry (Elaine) Cirino; grandchildren, Matthew Cirino, Jennifer Cirino, Angela Cirino, Joey Kleusener, Tricia Kleusener, Chad Cirino and Paul Cirino; and great-grandchildren, Charlyn Cirino and Kaija Stiles.
A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 24th in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz.
