Judy Marie Dunnigan, 62, passed away on October 10, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born September 8, 1956 in Little Rock, Arkansas, grew up in Slovak, Arkansas and resided in Florida the past 28 years.
Judy always lived a life serving others. She was a devoted volunteer at her children’s schools, served in homeless shelters and soup kitchens on a regular basis and lovingly cared for her parents in their time of need.
Judy began teaching at Little Stars Preschool in 1998 and later transitioned to a teacher’s aide at Palmer Catholic Academy working with elementary age students. Judy retired from teaching in 2016 to care for her parents full-time.
Judy is known for her joyful spirit, beautiful smile and selfless, kind heart. She was an inspiration and dearly admired by all who knew her. She fought and beat breast cancer in 2014. Judy courageously battled a Glioblastoma brain tumor the last 16 months of her life.
Judy is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 41 years, JD; son Matt (Pam) Johnston; daughters Holly (Kyle) Wehner and Heather (Shawn) Sendler; grandchildren Drew, Mallory, Ella, Megan, Lindsey, Claire, Brianna, Addison, Micah, Baylor, Sadie and Mya; brothers Frank Bednar and William Bednar; mother June Bednar. She was predeceased by her father Frank Bednar, Jr.

A celebration of life and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend William Kelly as Celebrant at 11:00am on October 15, 2018 at Quinn Shalz Family Funeral Home.
