Judson Lewis Rigby, 93, passed away March 24, 2017.  He was born February 22, 1924 and raised in Mt. Vernon, NY.

Jud was an Eagle Scout and proudly served our country as a captain in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.  He flew 63 combat missions with the 12th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron and was awarded the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He later flew with the 137th Fighter Squadron of the New York Air National Guard.  Following his military service, Jud attended Syracuse University and was captain of the crew team.  After graduating college, he became a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation from November, 1951 until his retirement in January, 1979.

Jud is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Janet; four children; ten grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 o’clock, Friday, April 7th in St. Paul’s By the Sea Episcopal Church.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
