Joseph "Lynn" Smith

Joseph “Lynn” Smith, 53, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016. He was born November 23, 1962 in Valdosta, GA. He spent his childhood moving to various cities, ultimately ending up in Jacksonville, FL.

Lynn’s career as a CT/ X-Ray technician had him working in several Jacksonville Hospitals over the past 30 years. He was currently employed at Baptist Medical Center–South.

Lynn will be remembered for his charismatic personality and his passion for singing and entertaining. He cherished time spent with his family, especially the grandbabies. He knew the power of a smile and had the ability to light up any room.

Lynn is survived by his wife of 21 years, Darlene; children, Mel Smith (Robin), Cory Browne (Ashley), Nichole Demski (Rich), Lyndsey Smith and Logan Smith; grandchildren, Makayla, Madison, Hayden and Cameron; brother, Gary Smith (Sharon); nieces, Aubrey Hand (Josh), Haley Smith and Kelly Smith; nephew, Josh Smith (Lori); and many other loving family members. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles Luther Smith, Sr. and Betty Smith; and brothers, Charles Luther Smith, Jr. and Lary Smith.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 12, 2016 in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home. A private Graveside Service will be held Friday in Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery.
