Joseph Mclaughlin

McLAUGHLIN Joseph Francis McLaughlin, 93, of Orange Park, FL, passed away peacefully on Jan. 24, 2016. He was the husband of Elizabeth McLaughlin, who predeceased him in August, 2015, after celebrating over 70 years of marriage. Joe was born in West New York, NJ on May 20, 1922, and spent most of his adult life in Warwick, RI and Orange Park, FL. Joe proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. After serving in the Navy, he worked as a toolsetter for G.E. and an electronic technician for NAS in Quonset, RI and Jacksonville, FL. He spent many years volunteering at Grace Episcopal Church and enjoyed tracing his family genealogy. Joe is survived by his daughters: Sharon Mattila, of Jacksonville Beach and Sheryl Mcginnis of Denver, CO; grandchildren: Jason Mcginnis, Aimee Clode, Brad Mattila, Matt Mattila and Dana Buchaca; and great grandchildren: Riley and Maddox Colde. A Memorial Service will be held for Joe and Betty at 11:00am, Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016 at Grace Episcopal Church of Orange Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice of NE FL.
