Joseph “Joe” Edward Imholz, age 92, entered eternal rest on October 30, 2024. Born on April 27, 1932 in Queens, NY to the late Francis and Phyllis Imholz, he was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Pam of 35 years and an amazing role model and father. “Pops” to his children and “Grandpa” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joe was also a man of great faith, devoted to the Catholic church and exemplifying a true servant’s heart giving back to the church, his community and family. He was predeceased by his brother Frank, his son Christopher and dear friend Arthur Norz.

Following his graduation from LaSalle Academy, Joe was drafted into the US Army. After his honorable discharge, he used the GI Bill to attend Hofstra University on Long Island, NY graduating with a degree in Business Management. He then began a 40 year illustrious career with Metropolitan “Met” Life Insurance, retiring as a Vice-President in the Met Life Property and Casualty Company in Providence, RI. His Met Life career enabled him to experience life in different cultures and make life-long friends as he led Met Life companies including the Information Systems Center in Greenville, SC; The Information Technology in Albany Life in the United Kingdom; and Officer in Charge of Technology and Administration Services with the P&C company in Rhode Island. Following his retirement, Joe and Pam enjoyed traveling throughout the world as well as Tennis and Golf in Savannah , GA.

Although Joe had a very successful career, he was most proud of and devoted to his family. He showed them the value of love and compassion taught by Christ serving parishes and communities in need. He provided his family with many wonderful memories that included South Carolina summers at Kiawah Island and trips throughout the United States. He doted on his grandchildren with regular trips and cruises to fun destinations such as Disney World, Club Med, and the Caribbean, to name a few. The best memories of all included the many large family gatherings every New Year’s with Grandma and Grandpa. No matter where these gatherings occurred, New York City, the beach, a cruise ship or their home in Savannah, they always included the traditional Imholz 5K Run which included the entire family, even the babies in strollers! Joe instilled in his family a love of sports and was a runner, golfer and talented tennis player, proudly beating much younger tennis players well into Joe’s 80s. He was an especially devoted fan of the New York Mets.

In addition to his devoted and loving wife Pam, Joe will be deeply missed by his children: Joanne Alford and her husband Bobby of Atlanta, GA; John Joseph Imholz and his wife Rebecca of Mount Pleasant, SC; Mark James Imholz and his wife Julie of Blythewood, SC; Jacob Imholz and his wife Grace of Seattle, WA, and Joshua Imholz of Seattle,WA. Joe leaves many grandchildren and great-grandchildren with fond and cherished memories of time with Grandpa. Joe’s memory will also be cherished by his extended family and many life-long friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 8 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. Family and friends are invited to gather afterward for a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to LaSalle Academy in NYC at 215 East 6th Street, New York, New York, 10003, or St. Paul’s Legacy of Faith Fund here in Jacksonville Beach.

Eternal rest grant unto Joseph, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. Amen
