COLLINS Joseph F. Collins, 70, passed away December 15, 2015. He was born September 16, 1945, in Tampa, FL, to Perry and Cebelle Collins. He attended Chamberlain High School, and upon his graduation in 1964, enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Navy with 20 years of service as a Chief, after which he worked another 25 years, as a VLS engineer. He enjoyed traveling the world with his bride, Rita. They visited many countries, Japan, Korea, Germany, and Denmark, just to name a few, until his retirement in July 2015. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, being out on his boat and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 48 years, Rita A. Collins; son, Steven P. Collins (Nancy) of Orange Park, FL; daughters, Cindy Hargis (Kevin Stokes) of Burlington, NC, and Danielle Horsley (Todd) of Jacksonville, FL; nine grandchildren, Travis, Phillip, Taylyn, and David Collins, Hannah and Carvanna Hargis, Emily and Parker Collins and Shelby Horsley; one sister, Lois Rodrigues (Amado); one brother, Ronald Peralta (Bea); and one sister-in-law, Lelo Collins, all of the Tampa, area. He was predeceased by his parents; three sisters; one brother; and a son David A. Collins. As per his request, no services will be held at this time.
