TILLEY
John L. (J.F.) Tilley, 84, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 1, 2016. He was born in Dresden, TN and was employed at Halls Printing Co. while in TN. J.F. and Ruth lived for many years in Jonesboro, AR before moving to Florida where he retired from NationsBank in Fort Myers, FL before moving to Jacksonville.
J.F. is survived by his wife Ruth of 58 years, daughter Debbie Henegar, sons Jeffrey (Donna) Tilley and Terry Tilley, grandchildren Ashley (Daniel) Plummer, Cody Tilley and Clay Davis-Tilley, aunt Dorothy Hicks of Paris, TN and many nieces, nephews and extended family. J.F. was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all with a great sense of humor.
He was predeceased by his parents Lum and Ottie Bell Tilley, sisters Aline Allman, Mary Frances Moon, Mable Modene Sandefer, Ivie Nell Wright and Wanda Joy Asher.
J.F. proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. A graveside service was held at 1:30pm, Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors.
