John Joseph Zander, 82, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2014, in St. Augustine, Fla. He was born March 10, 1932, in St. Louis, Mo., to the late John Xavier and Catherine Bollinger Zander. John proudly served his country in the US Army. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church of Elkton, Fla. John was also a member of the VFW, Post 10350, of Lake St. Louis, Mo. John retired from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and was a life time member of the Graphic Communications International Union. John enjoyed many years of service as the Printcraft Bowling Association's secretary.
He is survived by: son, Kevin Zander of Keithsburg, Ill.; daughters, Janet Harris (Steve) Brentwood, Calif., and Joyce Reagan (Ron) Elkton; eight grandchildren, Amanda Z. Main (Adam), Melanie Z. Bloss (Levi), Andy Zander, Justin Reagan, Zach Harris, Katie Harris, Tylar Reagan and Sean Harris; four great-grandchildren, Kade Bloss, Rowan Main, Paxton Zander and preceded in death, Aleigha Bloss.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Elkton, Fla. Interment will be held at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis, Mo., on July 25, 2014, at 2:30 p.m.
