John Nall

John E. “Jack” Nall, 91, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2016. He was born in Louisville, KY on August 15, 1924 to the late James Roscoe and Maude Alice Nall. He was a WWII Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy in a PT Boat Squadron in the south pacific. Jack and Kate McClarty were married on April 5, 1947 and he lived to celebrate their 69th Anniversary. Following his WWII service, he began his railroad career with the Louisville and Nashville RR Co, which took them to OH, MI, PA, KY, TN and FL. He retired 42 yrs. later in 1985 as VP Sales for CSX. After retirement Jack volunteered at St. Luke’s Hospital for 16 years, Meals on Wheels and Seabreeze Elementary.

He was an active member of Palms Presbyterian Church for 34 years, part of that time serving as an Elder. He loved singing and was a member of the Cypress Village Chorus, Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, and Deerwood CC where he loved to play golf 3 times a week. He was an avid Jaguar fan and season ticket holder for many years.

Jack loved his family and was proud of his children and their accomplishments. He especially love watching his athletic grandsons participate in many sports.

Survived by his loving wife, Kate; sons, Larry (Sharon) and Mike (Mary Beth); daughter, Debbie; and grandchildren, Ryan (fiancé; Rheba), Tyler (Emily), Zach and Shane.

A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thurs., May 19th in Palms Presbyterian Church, 3410 3rd St. S., Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250, with The Rev. Laurie Furr-Vancini, and The Rev. Dr. David Alexander of Cypress Village officiating.
