MCCANN John Thomas The FOX McCann passed away at Mayo Hospital on April 14, 2013 at 4 pm at the age of 70. John is predeceased by his father John T. McCann Sr. and his mother Mona Dennehy McCann. John is survived by his loving wife Suzan Mahoney McCann of 29 years. They were married in Point Lookout, New York on October 13, 1984. John is lovingly remembered by his son, Timothy Daniel and his daughter Laurel Mona as well as his eight siblings Joan Cavanagh, Shelia McCann, Mona Tieche, Barry McCann, Kevin McCann, Edward McCann, Michael McCann, and Dennis McCann. John was born in Jamaica, New York on April 7, 1943. He graduated from Chaminade High School New York in 1960 and went on to earn a Bachelors degree in English from Saint John s University New York in 1964. He served our country in the United States Marines. He was employed as a Pilot with Eastern Airlines until he retired in 1989, then went on as an educator. In addition, John was an Ocean Lifeguard for the Town of Hempstead at Lido and East Atlantic Beach from 1961 until he joined Eastern Airlines. John enjoyed working in the garden growing exotic orchids, reading, mentoring, and spending time with his family. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 545 A1A N Ponte Vedra Bch, FL 32082 on Saturday April 20th, 2013 at 11 am.
