John "Jack" William Sheehan, Sr.

John “Jack” William Sheehan, 73 of Jacksonville Beach, Florida passed away peacefully at home on March 14th, 2023.  He was born April 5, 1949, in Boston, Massachusetts.  In 1957 his family relocated to Honolulu, Hawaii for five idyllic years before settling permanently in the Arlington section of Jacksonville where he attended Terry Parker High School (’67).  He served as an E-3 in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Boxer during Vietnam and worked for twenty years in the Drydock department of the Jacksonville Shipyards, Inc.  He was a 45-year resident of Jacksonville Beach and was well known and loved by all.

He was predeceased by his parents Thomas J. and Florence H. Sheehan.  He is survived by his sons John “Chip” W. Sheehan, Jr. and Jason L. Sheehan of Jacksonville and Patrick W. Sheehan of New York City; his former spouse and mother of his children Marcia K. Davis of Jacksonville, his sisters Joyce “Joy” S. Viets and Kathy S. Whitley (Steve) of Jacksonville; his brother Thomas J. Sheehan, Jr. (Annette) of St. Augustine; his grandchildren Aislinn, Sean, Kaylin and Tristan; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Jacksonville Beach, FL. on Wednesday March 29th, 2023, at 12 noon.  The family will be receiving guests immediately after at the Ribault Garden Club.
