John "Gerry" Gerard Beatty

John “Gerry” Beatty, 59, passed away on March 26, 2023. He was born on April 3, 1963 in Castlerea, Ireland.

Gerry was famous for his warmth, his penchant for whiskey, and his devotion to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Manchester United. Though we’ll miss him terribly, his legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of everyone who knew him.

Above everything, Gerry loved spending time with his family. He was husband to Carolyn, dad to Ashley (Ryan) Perdew, Johnny, and Seth, and proud Papa to McKenzie and Madison Perdew. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Beatty; siblings, Mary Cox, Jimmy Beatty, Kathy Cribbs, Evelyn Bergin, Liam Beatty; uncle, Reverend William Kelly; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was a beloved friend to more than we can possibly list here. Gerry was preceded in death by his father, Seamus Beatty; sisters Rachel, Francie, Finnuala; and brother Eddie.

A visitation that will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Quinn Shalz Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 30th, at 1:30 PM in St. Paul’s Catholic Church with Reverend William Kelly as Celebrant.
