John Woodman Cockerill III

John Woodman Cockerill, III, of Jacksonville, FL, died February 18th at Baptist Medical Center South of a heart attack.

He was the son of the late John Woodman Cockerill II and Marcella Logan Cockerill.

John was born in New Rochelle, NY where he attended Blessed Sacrament Grammar, New Rochelle High School and Dean Junior College.

John loved all sports having an encyclopedic knowledge of every aspect from past to present day, which made for hours of congenial conversation with all he met.  John was a lifelong Giants Fan and a tender soul who loved his cats and took care of any strays who crossed his path.

His is survived by his siblings; Claudia Cockerill, Patricia Gondolfo, Cynthia Hagedorn, Judith O’Loughlin, Christopher Cockerill, and his 5 nephews and 2 nieces.  He is survived by his ex-wife.
