Janie Lorene Gibson

Janie Lorene Gibson passed away October 8, 2024, after a brief illness. Lorene was born March 4, 1938, in Westminster, South Carolina. A graduate of Berry College with a master's degree from Nova University, Lorene taught school at S.P. Livingston, Mayport and Neptune Beach Elementary Schools. I addition, Lorene taught in Turkey, Germany, and on Long Island, New York.

Lorene was predeceased by her parents, Bob and Gussie Gibson; brothers, Ligon and Jack; sisters, Magdalene, Virginia, and Wilma. She is survived by her much loved sister-in-law, Pat Gibson; many dear nieces and nephews.

Lorene's family and special friends are grateful to Doug and Carolyn Stone and Leila Gregoire, her college roommate, for their excellent care during her illness. She was the best friend anybody could ever have. she opened her home and heart to us as we enjoyed her company.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her memory at a later date.
