Jane Rose Michael

Jane Rose Michael, age 57, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2024, surrounded by her family.  Jane was born in Mandan, North Dakota to John Barnhardt and Frances Barnhardt (Messer).  She married the love of her life, Greg Michael, on August 2, 1986, and they had two sons, Nathan (Courtney) Michael, Cameron (J.D.) Michael, and one grandson, Aaron Michael, who she adored.  She is survived by her mom, Frances, her brother Jim (Cindy) Barnhardt, and her two sisters, Mary (Andy) Barnhardt and Sue (Clay) Arnold.

 Above all else, Jane loved her family and showed them in many ways: birthday dinners at Ruth's Chris, tailgating at Jaguar games (Go Jags!), attending theater performances, concerts, taking Aaron to the zoo, or simply going out for ice cream.  She shared her love, and included her friends too, by hosting Thanksgiving dinners, game nights, and legendary New Year’s Eve parties.  Jane also loved to bake and travel, whether by plane, cruise ship or car, and passed that love on to her sons and grandson. Throughout her career, Jane was seen as a trusted friend, dedicated co-worker, and caring mentor.

 Jane will forever be remembered for her eternal love for Greg, devotion to her family, (the best Nana ever!) quiet strength, optimism, and sense of humor. She was our rock and inspiration.

 A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 24th starting at 1:00 p.m. at Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home, 3600 3rd Street S., Jacksonville Beach, FL, 32250. Condolences may be shared with the family on our online guestbook.
