James D. Oswald passed away June 8, 2017. He was born in Michigan and lived there for most of his life until retiring to the beaches in 1984.
Jim proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Shortly after his Army career he began working for Ford Motor Co. in Detroit and remained there for 37 years retiring as an Executive with the company. Jim had many interests and pass times. He was an avid golfer and active member of the Ponte Vedra Club where he won the Men’s Senior Championship when he was 78. He was also a private pilot, played the guitar and loved Harley Davidson’s and rebuilt many vintage automobiles.
Jim is survived by his loving daughters, Barbara Steele (Alan) and Shelley Zmich; grandchildren, James Bumbaugh (Amy), Jason Macartney, Justin Macartney (Nana); eight great-grandchildren; and his loving companion of ten years, Barbara Teitelman. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Theresa Oswald.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 12th in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz.
