James Everett LePetrie, Sr., age 78, passed away peacefully at his home in St. Johns, FL on Monday, July 24, 2017. He was born on February 6, 1939 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and graduated from Meadows of Dan High School in Virginia.
He was predeceased by his parents Edward Everett LePetrie and Gwendoline (Donaldson) LePetrie and son-in-law Phillip Buttrill. Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Sylvia (Stapleton) LePetrie, daughter, Laura Buttrill, sons, James E. LePetrie, Jr. and Lance E. LePetrie, granddaughters, Taylor and Hailey Buttrill, and grandson, Brandon LePetrie.
James started as a mechanic with Fuchs Baking Company (Holsum Bakery) in Miami, FL in 1964, advanced to Fleet Superintendent and retired after 32 years. He was a member of the Army National Guard of Florida from 1962 to 1968. James and Sylvia enjoyed RVing through 49 states and much of Canada and were members of Winnebago Itasca Travelers and Family Motor Coach Association. He was an avid NASCAR fan.
Many thanks to his caregivers from Brookdale, Concierge Care and Community Hospice of NE FL. He will truly be missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated with no services.
