James Knight

KNIGHT James Filmore Knight, age 85, of Jacksonville Beach, Florida died peacefully January 11, 2016. Born June 15, 1930 in Vaiden, MS; he was predeceased by his parents George and Blanche Fullilove Pritchard and adoptive parents Filmore and Nona Knight of DeKalb, MS. James severed 10 years in the U.S. States Air Force during the Korean War. In 1962 he began working for the Jacksonville Beach Fire Department and devoted 28 years of service to our local community. James was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; he loved his family more than life itself. He is survived by 2 sisters Frances Jeffords and Juanita Clark (Bill) of Tutwiller, MS; his wife, Frankie, of 59 years; daughter, Judy Richardson (Larry) of Clinton, MS; 2 sons, James Filmore Knight, II, aka Jimmy (Terri) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Robert Knight (Kim) of Brunswick, GA; grandchildren, Kylan Knight (Carrie), Kelli Overturf (Erik), Kody Knight, all of Jacksonville Beach, FL; Rachel Drake (John) and Reese Knight of Brunswick, GA; Michael Richardson (Crystal) and Claire Mutziger (Weston) of Flowood, MS; and 6 great-grandchildren. A memorial service led by Pastor, Glenn Reese, will be observed on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Chet's Creek Church, 4420 Hodges Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32224.
