James Hasty
August 20, 1946 — January 16, 2018
James H. Hasty, 71, passed away Jan. 14, 2018 with his loving wife, Elvira, by his side. He was born Aug. 20, 1946 in Dallas, TX.
He received his Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He worked for Texas Instruments before receiving his PhD in Biophysics from the University of Illinois. He worked for the Kendall Co. in Barrington, IL for over 20 years. While working at Kendall, he was head of the Medical Product Research team where he helped invent the leg compression stocking that are used in hospitals today. He left Kendall Co. and started his own business focusing on specialty hospital beds.
James is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Elvira; and many other loving family members.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, Jan. 19, 2018 in Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery, 4750 Palm Valley Road, Ponte Vedra, FL 32082.
