J. Hill

J. Michael Hill, age 81, of Jacksonville Beach, FL, passed away on January 24, 2017.  Michael was born to the late Joseph and Isla Hill on August 4, 1935 in Wilmington, NC.  A longtime resident of Harvey Cedars, NJ on Long Beach Island, Michael followed his parents into the Real Estate business, establishing his own firm, Hill Associates, as a leader and innovator in marketing luxury vacation homes on the South Jersey Shore.  Mike was an avid outdoorsman enjoying duck hunting and salt water sport fishing, while leading and an adventurous lifestyle that included the love of golf, skiing and sailing.  His passion was flying.  He joined the Air Force in 1954 and retained the love for flying throughout his life. He earned his Private Pilot license in 1977 and ultimately his multi-engine, sea plane and commercial certifications.

Michael was also pre-deceased by his stepmother Elsie Hill, brother Arnold Hill, sisters Peggy Kircher and Patricia Hill.  He is survived by his daughter, Susan Hill, and sons Michael, David and Richard.  Pop Pop also enjoyed nine grandchildren, Ellen, Laura, Harry, Madeline, Stephanie, Emily, Jack, Russell and Katie.

A memorial service is planned to be held on LBI at a later date.
