Isabella Christine Garcia,19, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on June 9th, 2018 as the result of a tragic car accident. Isabella was born on November 13, 1998 at Naval Hospital Jacksonville and was the daughter of Trisha and Robert Garcia.
She attended Sabal Palm Elementary, Twin Lakes Academy Middle and was a 2017 graduate of Sandalwood High School. She was an exemplary student who graduated with honors while enrolled in Sandalwood's Dual Enrollment Program.
She was currently enrolled at The University of South Florida in Tampa, majoring in Nursing. Her compassion and love for people is what lead her in the direction of choosing Nursing as her career. Isabella played soccer for 12 years throughout Jacksonville with many organizations; she was a four-year letterman of the Lady Saints soccer team and was an all-conference recipient.
Isabella truly lived life to the fullest during her short time with us, through simple pleasures; going to the beach, spending time with family and friends, stopping at Starbucks for her favorite caramel frappuccino with extra caramel, eating avocado toast daily, playing soccer, and dancing. Her soul was pure, her laugh and smile were infectious, and she was a bright light in a dark room. She was loved by so many and touched the lives of all who knew her.
Isabella is survived by her parents, Robert and Trisha Garcia; maternal grandmother, Cynthia Maertz; paternal grandparents, Robert and Cheryl Garcia; paternal great grandparents, Johnnie and Alberta Hines; sister, Sarah Garcia; uncles, Mark Maertz (Kami) and Ryan Garcia(Michelle); five cousins; Mark, Michael and Kyle Maertz, Maddison and Mackenzie Garcia, and a very special dear friend, Jeff Young.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Mark Maertz Sr.; maternal great grandfather, George Halluin, and maternal great grandmother, Hazel Halluin.
A Celebration of Isabella's life will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, June 14th, 2018 at Palms Presbyterian Church, 3410 3rd St S, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.
