Henry Hugh Oliver, Jr. (Skip)

Skip Oliver, 77, passed away December 19, 2024. He was born August 16, 1947, in Marietta, Georgia, to Hugh and Ruby Oliver. Along with his parents and siblings, Kay, John, and Carol, he moved to the beaches in 1958.

He graduated from Fletcher High School and worked for CSX for a number of years before becoming a talented general contractor, roofing contractor, and real estate broker. He developed properties on the Isle of Palms and built many homes in the beaches area, a number in which his family lived. He continued to enjoy involvement in this work up until his death.

While he found joy in his secular work, even more important to him were spiritual pursuits. On April 6, 1963, he dedicated his life to his God Jehovah and began more than 61 years of faithful service to Him.

Skip is survived by his loving wife of nearly 51 years, Bebe; son, Chad (Candice); daughter, Liza (Joshua).
