Helen B. Frankenberg

Ruth (Helen) Bosler Frankenberg, 95, entered peacefully into eternal rest on July 10, 2024, at home with family. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Joe, as well as numerous siblings and beloved friends. She was mother to daughters, Margaret Dieter, Constance Frankenberg, and a proud grandmother to Anastasia Dieter. She was born January 1st, the daughter of William and Lydia Bosler, and the first baby born in Jacksonville in 1929 (and yes, she would roll her eyes at the mention of this again). The epitome of a true Southern lady, she was soft spoken and gracious, and gave so willingly of herself to our community. She leaves behind a lifelong legacy of volunteering and service: from selling flags as a young girl to raise money for injured soldiers returning from WWII to serving with and leading multiple local non-profit and philanthropic organizations, including the Southside Women’s Club (President), Delta Theta Tau philanthropic sorority (President), National Society to Prevent Blindness (Board Member), Y W Wives Club (President), and Camp Fire Boys and Girls. Her memory and legacy will live on in her family and loved ones who endeavor to embody her guiding principle that we be kind to others and do our best, as she always tried to do. An interment service for both Helen and Joe will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery at 10am on August 23rd, followed by a celebration of Helen’s life at Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family politely requests donations be made to Tunnel to Towers in Helen’s name.
