With the heaviest of hearts, we regret to inform you that Harshad Thakkar, 67, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on January 2, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. He was born May 25,1955, in Baroda, India, to loving parents Natvarlal and Padmaben Thakkar. Harshad is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sudha; Son, Kunal; Daughter-in-law, Shilpa; Daughter, Mansi; Grandchildren, Jaan and Sofie; Brother, Hemang; and Sisters, Gita, Alka and Shila.
His life touched countless others, and his impact will be felt in immeasurable ways. Harshad grew up in Ahmedabad with many close family and friends. His childhood was spent in India, enjoying his time with his siblings and friends. At an early age, he developed a passion for music, theater, and the arts.
In 1985, Harshad moved to the United States with his family by his side. He possessed a relentless work ethic, and a commitment to providing the best livelihood possible for his family. In 1995, him and Sudha became business owners of Canton Inn and made that community their home. Harshad was also able to live out his true passion of singing when he started a musical group with his brother, Hemang. They travelled across the country bringing joy while performing at weddings and celebrations.
He was diagnosed with an undeserving illness, which he fought tirelessly, with constant and steady support of his loving wife. His vibrant spirit and kind soul is an inspiration to all who knew him.
