Michael Meister, 97, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2017. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who taught his family through example to have an appreciation of life and love for the United States of America. Mike was a proud Marine who served in the battles of Tarawa and Okinawa.
For 63 years he was most connected to his fellowship of AA, and because of that, he is able to leave his legacy of unconditional love, forgiveness, acceptance, and gratitude to his family and many friends.
Mike was predeceased by his beloved wife Maggie. He is survived by his son Glenn (Kirby), daughters Nancy Lester and Leslie Keener (Chip), and his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of gifts, the family requests donations to be made in Mike’s name to River Garden Hebrew Home, where he received loving and caring attention during the last year and a half of his life.
Mike's wish was to have a "Grand Party" to celebrate his and Maggie's life which will be announced at a future date.
