It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our cherished father, Gregory "Todd" Jones. Todd, our superhero, has left us, but his memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
Born on December 31, 1968, in Concord, North Carolina, Todd was the son of James Jones and Patricia Reynolds and was a graduate of Duncan U. Fletcher High School in Neptune Beach, FL, class of 1986. Todd began his journey in the HVAC industry at the tender age of 16, working alongside his family. For over 35 years, Todd has dedicated himself to this profession. In 2015, he proudly established his own family business, Tar Heel Heating & Air Conditioning, which will continue to thrive in his honor. Todd, a true beach native, has paved paths for us to follow, leaving behind a legacy of strength and perseverance.
With his infectious humor, Todd ensured that laughter echoed wherever he went. His knack for creating his own words and nicknames brought joy to all who knew him. Almost fluent in Spanish, he never ceased in his efforts to learn. Those fortunate enough to know the authentic Todd, also known affectionately as “GT Jones”, “TJ”, "Jonesy", "Padre", and “Skywalker”, will forever cherish his kindness and generosity. Family was paramount to him, and he leaves behind a legacy of love that he nurtured with care.
Todd's greatest joys were his children and grandchildren, along with his beloved fur babies. He shared his passion for motocross with Joshua and Madison, creating cherished memories at Loretta Lynn's Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. He taught them to ride dirt bikes and adorned them with Fox gear from head to toe. His pride in his children's accomplishments knew no bounds.
Todd's interests were as diverse as his spirit. He loved Motocross, fishing, the tranquility of the outdoors, and staying out of the sun with his big ol’ straw hat, complete with 100 spf sunscreen. His bond with Joshua extended to building projects, while Madison inherited his green thumb. In homage to his Native American heritage, Todd occasionally performed his version of tribal dances and found solace in his daily readings of the Bible, always sharing verses with Joshua and Madison to start their days.
Todd is survived by his daughter, Madison Rae Jones; son, Joshua Caleb Jones (Rebekah); grandchild, Forrest Dean Jones; grandchild on the way, Oakley Elijah Jones; and his cherished dog, Chief. He was preceded in death by his beloved son Cameron Issac Jones; father, James Grady Jones; and mother, Patricia Ann Reynolds.
