Goldie Delaney

Goldie M. Delaney of Jacksonville, Fl. passed away December 10, 2020 at the age of 91.

Goldie was born on September 13, 1929 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a loving and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt.

As a young girl she met and married a handsome sailor, the love of her life, John W. Delaney (1926 – 2020). During their 75 years together, they shared many adventures with family and friends traveling the across the US. Their love for the road and adventure ultimately lead them to the mountains of North Carolina where they lived for more than 25 years. Goldie and John were faithful members of Crossnore Presbyterian Church and served their community through volunteer work with Meals on Wheels. In 2006 they relocated back to Jacksonville, Florida to be closer to family. Goldie enjoyed sewing, baking, loved to play cards and enjoyed watching baseball with her husband.  She loved spending time with her family, watching old westerns and sweet kisses from her beloved.

During their beautiful life together, John and Goldie were blessed with 3 children; John Jr. (Linda), Marie, and Robert (Nancy); 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her niece Patty.
