Gloria Scantling

February 17, 1946 — July 20, 2017

Gloria Jean Fields Scantling passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 20, 2017. She was born February 17, 1946 in Jacksonville, FL. She attended Duval County Public Schools and worked in Home Health Care. She was an active member of Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Clifford Johnson where she served faithfully with the choir, Sunday School with District 4 Deacon Monroe Ford.

Gloria Scantling was a devoted servant of God, mother, sister, grandmother and friend who served all with dignity and respect with her presence and her voice of praise was a blessing to us all.

Gloria is survived by a loving and devoted family. Sons, Michael Tyrone Scantling and Lephus Everidge Scantling; sister, Theodoshia Gadsden; grandchildren, Isaac, Hunter, Deja, Patrick, Chandler, Garrett, Wesley and Maximus; daughter-in-laws, Valerie Scantling, Robbie Scantling and Zoevenia Scantling; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Sally Fields; son, Frank N. Scantling, Jr.; and three sisters, Margaret Baker, Lena Simmons and Helen Garrett.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 2803 Edgewood Ave. W., 32209. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service in the church.
