Gloria Colleen Curtin was born a Reiley in Jacksonville, Florida in 1948. After graduating from Bishop Kenny High School, Colleen attended (then) North Florida Junior College in Madison, Florida. At points in her life, Colleen was a retail store manager, Florida real estate sales associate, long time nanny and a marina dockmaster.
She is survived by her son, Alexander Michael Himmelberg, of Jacksonville Beach; her mother, Gloria Reiley, and brothers Champ Reiley and Declan Reiley and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father, Edward, and brothers, Michael Reiley and Timothy Reiley.
Colleen is remembered as an exceptionally loving and generous angel to her family. Her many talents and interests included cooking, painting, and a deep love of family and nature. Put it this way... at on Earth Day brunch, she wore a Mother Nature costume.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Wed., Dec. 7th at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Jacksonville Beach, followed by a reception in the Family Life Center.
Organizations that held a place in Colleen's heart for donations include Best, Buddies Jacksonville, Special Olympics, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Herschel Animal Clinic.
