Gerald P. Camp

Gerald Paul Camp of Jacksonville, FL passed away August 11th, a day after his 79th birthday. Born in Providence, RI on August 10, 1945, to the late Eileen (Greene) and Gerald M. Camp, he spent his childhood in Cranston, RI. A graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School, Jerry spent the majority of his career with various bread and bakery companies, most memorably with Entenmann's, where he owned his route and brought home more chocolate chip cookies than his family could eat! A resident of Narragansett for many years, he raised his family in Eastward Look, where many happy memories were made. In the late 80's he had enough of the cold winters and moved with most of his family to Ponte Vedra Beach in sunny Florida where he was a bread distributor for Flowers Bakeries, then worked for Winn Dixie and most recently Walmart in Jacksonville. Jerry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jacqueline (Maher) Camp; his son Scott and wife Colleen of South Kingstown, RI; son Adam and fiancée Debra Benning of Palm Coast, FL; daughter Susan Darch of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; grandchildren Scott Jr., Ryan, Kayla and Emma; and his dogs Max, Lilly and Jax that he adored! Jerry was predeceased by his brother Richard and his beloved daughter Shannon, with whom he is now reunited. His family is forever grateful for Alexandra from Hospice and nurses Colleen and Alex at Memorial Hospital for their kindness and caring. Services were private.
