Georgia Kay Papevies

Georgia K. Papevies, 86, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2023.  She lived in Jacksonville Beach since 1974.  She was a member of Beach Church.  Before retiring, she worked as the bar manager at the VFW Post 3270 in Jacksonville Beach, where she always had a smile for everyone and enjoyed the camaraderie with the members.  She was also an active member of the auxiliary.  She and her husband, Paul, were instrumental in growing the VFW membership and building to what it is today. The couple enjoyed dancing, traveling to conventions & gymnastic competitions, and spending time with family.

Georgia was a loving, caring and kind wife, mother and grandmother.  Her surviving family members include son, Roger Whiting, daughters, Misty Williams and Rhonda Johnson (Curt), step-daughter, Paula Kalb-Ramirez (Gerson); granddaughter, Aubyn Bell (Tanner); step-grandson, Charlie Kalb; step-granddaughters, Alyssa (Tyler) Trapp, Jordyn (Christian) Lopez, Mary Kalb, Grace Ramirez, along with great-granddaughters Daisy Bell and Charlee Trapp.  She is also survived by her brother, Fred Howell (Susan), brother-in-law, Ralph Stecker, and many other relatives.  She is preceded in death by her husband Paul and sister, Shirley Stecker.

Georgia was loved by everyone that knew her and she will be greatly missed by all, especially her family.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 11:00 a.m. March 18, 2023 in the Chapel of Beach Church.
