“TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS THAT ARE LIKE FAMILY!”
George E Setaro, age 93, went home on Sunday, September 1, 2024. He was born February 9, 1931, in Newark, New Jersey and moved with his family to Jacksonville in the Summer of 1968.
George proudly served our country in the Army National Guard and went on to work various jobs, always providing for his family. He also spent many years in the Knights of Columbus, volunteering, serving the community and of course, making good friends and having fun.
George is survived by his soulmate and wife of 62 years, Fran; daughters Debbie (Phil) and Donna (Pat); son, Donald (Niecy) and three beautiful granddaughters who were the light of his life, Amanda (Cole), Kelly (Dylan) and Nicole.
George loved life and lived it to the fullest. His hobbies included metal recycling, puttering around in his garage and playing cards. His favorite pastime was picking out, putting together and gifting the perfect puzzle to those he loved. He loved spending time with his family and friends, no matter what they were doing.
A Celebration of Life (George style) will be held on Saturday, September 14th from 6pm – 10pm at the Mandarin Moose Lodge, 4450 Losco Rd Jacksonville, FL 32257.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
