Gail Tate, beloved wife and mother, passed away on December 10, 2022.
Gail spent the majority of her working years at NMCRS (Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society) where she helped thousands of people in desperate straits. Incredibly loving, she put her whole heart and soul into her position and made us proud to be her family. After retirement, her goal was to travel the nation with her husband, cat, and dog in their RV. The cat was quickly banished from their travels. She also contributed much time and energy to her favorite charity JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) in the effort to eradicate Type 1 diabetes, a condition she lived with for over 50 years.
Gail is survived by her husband (Mike) and her daughter (Deanna). She will be missed by her sister (Andi) and her three brothers (Greg, Ben, and Sam) and their families. She was so loved and loved so much in return. She lived for her family and would often dominate discussions with talk of them (sometimes embarrassing them thoroughly). Gail had a heart the size of the sun and enveloped all she knew with her warm spirit. Everyone she met was family.
A Memorial Viewing and Service will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, December 17th, 2022, at Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, donations can be made to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) at http://www2.jdrf.org/goto/inmemoryofgail or mailed to JDRF Northern Florida Chapter 1850 Lee Road Suite 132 Winter Park, FL 32789.
As Gail quoted 49 years ago in her senior yearbook, “At every end, there dawns a new beginning.” She will always be with us, looking on with love.
