Frank M. Binghi

Frank M. Binghi, 85, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Friday March 22, 2024.

Frank was born on January 9, 1939, to Victor and Lilly (Rafaella) Binghi in The Bronx, New York. He attended Fordham University where he studied education.

After graduation he began his career as an educator at P.S. 45 in the Bronx. It was at this time that he met and fell in love with Barbara. They were married in August of 1963 and were with each other through all of life’s ups and downs. 

His passion was mathematics, and he went on to be a teacher and administrator in New York at Bronx High School of Science, The United Nations International School, and Sleepy Hollow High School in Tarrytown. In 2003 Frank and Barbara moved to Jacksonville, Florida where he taught calculus at The University of North Florida through February 2024. 

Frank and Barbara would go on to have three children: Christine (Jason), David (Debbie), and Marc (Olga). Frank was a wonderful and devoted father, husband, educator and mentor.  Along with mathematics, he enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra, reading books, learning different languages, and playing with his cats.   

He is survived by his wife Barbara; his three children; their spouses; five grandchildren: Gabriella, Nicholas, Julia, Daniel and Gabriel; and brother, Victor Binghi.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to either the American Lung Association or to donatenow.communityhospice.com and select the Anne and Donald McGraw Center for Caring. 

A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 10:00am followed by a full Mass at 11am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 2400 Mayport Road Jacksonville, Florida 32233.
