Ellis "E.T." Fernandez III

Ellis "E.T." Tarquin Fernandez, III, Born June 3, 1957 and left us to be with God on June 9, 2023

ET was born in Jacksonville and raised by his parents the Hon. Ellis T Fernandez, Jr. and his mom, Court Reporter Extraordinaire Joan Z. Fernandez, He is survived by his wife Courtney, and their 3 beautiful and talented children: Rylan, Hudson and Tarq, he is also survived by his mother Joan and siblings Edward (Edwina), and Elise Cashman (Frank) He was predeceased by his Grandparents and his father.

He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and host of friends, extended family and clients.

ET loved practicing law and music almost as much as he loved his family and friends. If a song came on that he liked he would turn it up and start singing, harmonizing or tapping out the beat. In music he could harmonize with the best and in trial he would tenaciously take on Goliath. His niece Elizabeth, remembers driving up to North Carolina with him and as he was driving he was teaching them the words to the Sound of Music, he wanted to put on a skit for his parents. He loved children. He loved his wife and children and they loved him, this was so very obvious when they would visit him over the last 6 weeks of his life. When Courtney, Rylan Tarq and Hudson visited him he put aside his pain and showered them with his attention and encouraging words.  He genuinely Loved his family.  

ET's physical presence will be missed by many, and even though he was not open about his deep religious faith he knew there was a higher power and towards the end of his life he accepted our Lord and Savior and he Peacefully and confidently walked upward towards the Light.

The last song he listened to before passing was Lovely Day by Bill Withers.

Services will be held June 24, 2023 at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home.
