Elizabeth L. Harther, 90, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL passed away on February 19, 2017.
Betty was raised in Montclair, NJ. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. She met her husband, Peter J. Sala there. They raised five daughters in Essex Fells, NJ. He predeceased her in 1977.
In 1983 she married C.T. Harther (Ted) and moved to Ponte Vedra Beach. He predeceased her in 1994.
Betty's zest for life was evident in her many passions which include family, golf, bridge and community service.
Betty is survived by her brother Donald H. Leber of Naples, FL, her daughters, Nancy (Richard) Connor, Jane McWilliams, Catherine Sala, Susan (Marc) Orlowski, Elizabeth (William) Ellis, seven grandsons and 11 great grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at Palms Presbyterian Church on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to Palms Presbyterian Church 3410 3rd St S., Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250 or Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra 300 Water St. Suite 200 Jacksonville, FL 32202.
