Eleanor 'Ellie' Curthoys, 84, passed away peacefully with family at her side on June 23, 2016.  She was born March 2, 1932 in Syracuse, New York.

Ellie was a loving mother to her 4 children, Bill (Rhonda) Curthoys, Gary (Lisa) Curthoys and John Curthoys of Detroit and Barbara (Joe) Krier of Jacksonville.  She is survived by her 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Ellie lived her life with a helper’s attitude, always ready to volunteer for family and charity.  She was a long time waitress at the Knights of Columbus in Warren, Michigan, and volunteered for several years at Day Star Life Center, helping needy families in Hernando County, Florida.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home, Thursday, June 30 from 6 to 8 pm.  A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:30 pm, Friday, July 1 at St. Paul's Catholic Church with Father Joshy Mathew as Celebrant. Burial at 2:00 pm at Ponte Vedra Valley.
